Alford "Leon" McDaniel, 80, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023.  He was a lifelong resident of Harrison, TN and of the Baptist faith.  Leon was employed with Hamilton County Public Works as a mechanic for 35 years.  He was also an avid deer hunter.  Leon had many hobbies, including dirt track racing and working on race cars.  He attended Ooltewah High School, where he played basketball, and Leon played fast and slow pitch softball throughout his life.  He enjoyed baling hay and farming on his property in his spare time.  Leon adored his children and grandchildren and will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, O.G. and Kathleen McDaniel; brother, J.C. McDaniel and sister, Betty Jo Harris.

Leon is survived by his wife of 60 years, Pat McDaniel; son, Noel McDaniel (Paula); daughter, Rebecca Mayse (Bobby); grandchildren, Kyle Mayse (Jamie) and Jason Mayse (Tiffany); great-grandchildren, Aubree, Savannah, Harper and J.J., as well as his fur baby, Annie, and three cats.

In accordance with Leon's wishes, there will only be a private family service.

He will be laid to rest in Old McDonald Cemetery in Ooltewah.
