Alice Mae Stinnett, 80, answered the call of her savior, Jesus Christ and went home on Tuesday, January 29, 2019. She died peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family.

She trusted God in all things and reflected Christ-like love to all. She exemplified courage, strength, faith and selflessness. Wherever she went, she applied herself for good and left happiness in her wake.

Alice was preceded in death by her loving husband, Johnny R. Stinnett; infant son, Ricky Joe Nation; parents, Leroy Phillips, Sr. and Ruby Humphreys Phillips; brothers, Leroy Phillips, Jr. and Billy Phillips; sister, Thedna Ann Crisp.

She is survived by children, Eddie Joe Nation, Pamela Nation, Elizabeth (Robert) Carter and Tim (Angie) Stinnett; granddaughter-daughter, Rachel (Demetrius) Duncan; stepchildren, Rusty Stinnett, Jimmy Stinnett, Debbie Stinnett and Sheila Garrett; siblings, Jack (Alice) Phillips, Shirley Harmon and Diane (Dale) Shelton; 22 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren; and countless friends.

Alice continued to bless our family with her wisdom, patience and unconditional love until her final days. May her beautiful soul forever live on in our hearts and minds, and may her memory nourish us all the years of our lives.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 31, 2019, from 3-8 p.m. in the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Friday, February 1, 2019 at noon in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery where Alice will be laid to rest with her husband, Johnny.
