Angus Madewell, 89, joined his wife, Vivian, in heaven on August 6, 2021.  He was born in Jamestown, TN on November 13, 1931.  His family later moved to Chattanooga, where he met Vivian Correll in elementary school.  Angus was a veteran.  He served as a Corporal in the United States Army in the Ski Patrol, stationed in Alaska.  After the military, he became employed with Combustion Engineering, retiring after 41 years.  Angus was known by his coworkers as "Flat Top" Madewell.  He was a long-time member of Morris Hill Baptist Church, where he served as the adult Sunday School teacher for many years. He later became a member of Community Baptist Church.

Angus had a passion for God's Word, and was a faithful witness for Jesus Christ until his death.

He will always be remembered for his Wit and Wisdom.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Vivian, and parents, Isaac and Hazel Madewell.

Angus is survived by his children, Sheila (Gary) Brooks, of Harrison, Bruce (Kelly) Madewell of Chattanooga, and Mark (Michelle) Madewell of Grapevine, TX; sisters, Frances Wilson and Vickie Rockwood; grandchildren, Adam Watkins of Chattanooga, Ashley (John) Mobley of Fort Worth, TX, Lindsey (Jesse) Lusignan of Canton, GA, Katie (Cody) Jones of White, GA, and Rani Madewell of Weatherford, TX; great-grandchildren, Baylee Mobley, Briggs Mobley, and Abigail Lusignan, as well as many cousins, extended family, and friends.

A private, family graveside service will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

A service to celebrate the lives of Vivian and Angus Madewell will be held at a later date for family and friends.
