Benjamin "Ben" R. Ghormley, Jr., 76, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2022.  Ben was born in Chattanooga and was a 1964 graduate of East Ridge High School.  He liked to golf and passed his love of golfing on to his children and grandchildren.  Ben loved to spend time with his family at the ballfields and was a huge fan of University of Tennessee sports.  He was also of the Baptist faith, being called to preach from an early age.  He continued to preach in the Chattanooga and surrounding areas.  Ben was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Aileen Ghormley.

Ben is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jane Ghormley; sons, Brian (Deanna) Ghormley and Chad (Tonya) Ghormley; daughter, Stephanie (Burl) Stricker, and grandchildren, Andrew, Megan, and Chase Ghormley, and Madison and Tyler Bobenhausen.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 18, 2022 from 4 – 8 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home @ Hwy 58.  A graveside service will be held the following day, Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 10 a.m. @ Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson with Greg Bolton officiating.
