Bert Lee Waters, Jr., 75, fell asleep and woke up in the loving arms of his savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, December 27, 2022.  He was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and a graduate of Kirkman Technical High School.  After completing High School, Bert joined the military, receiving an honorable discharge from the Army in 1970.  He also was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie No. 945 and the American Legion.  Bert enjoyed playing Keno, buying lottery tickets and especially loved going to Cherokee to try his luck on the poker machines.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Billie Higgins; parents, Bert and Ona Waters; sister, Judy Mitchell; brother, Jerry Waters, and nephew, Jeff Harris.

Bert is survived by his daughters, Brenda Bradford and Niki McCullough; sons, John Waters (Kristy), Michael Waters (Lynn) and David Waters (Veronica); lifelong friend, Jimmie Coley; niece, Susan Dover (Chris); nephew, Eddie Harris (Melissa), as well as several grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home @ Hwy 58.  A funeral service will follow in the chapel at 1 p.m. with Jimmie Coley officiating.

Bert will be laid to rest in Lakewood Memorial Gardens East with military honors.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Bert's name to the Fraternal Order of the Eagles @ 6128 Airways Blvd, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
