Betty Jean Keefe, 90, daughter of the late William Eli and Lucy Scott Smith, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2019.  Betty was a lifelong resident of the area and was of the Baptist faith.  Ms. Keefe worked in the Central High School cafeteria for 27 years.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Jefferson Smith, Jr.; brother, Ralph Smith; sister, Lennis Tunisen; son, Teddy Wayne Smith.

Survivors include her daughter, Ann (Rick) Payne of Harrison; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 17, 2019 from 4 - 8 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home @ Hwy 58.  The service will be held Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Pastor John Jones officiating.  Betty will be laid to rest next to her husband, Thomas Jefferson Smith, Jr. in Harrison Cemetery.
