Billy Richard "Rick" Smith, 67, passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023.  Rick worked as a Screen Room Operator from 1983 to 2011 at Spectra, Inc., and retired from Art Venture, Inc. in 2021.  He met his wife, Tammy, in the late 1980's, and shortly after was married and saying hello to his son, Coty.  From there he lived his life in Birchwood and did things he loved to do, such as spend time with his family, woodworking, and raising his son.  Then in 2017, he became a Papaw to his grandchild, Alice.  He lived his life as a simple, selfless man who cared more about others and how they were doing.  He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, and Papaw.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Flossie Smith.

Billy is survived by his wife, Tammy Smith; son, Coty Smith (Lauren); father, Bill Smith; brother, Eddie Green (Theresa); sister, Shela Roberts, and grandchildren, Alice Smith, Hope Richardson, and Savannah Gentry.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Turner Funeral Home @ Hwy 58 from 11 – 2 p.m. (EST).  A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. (EST) in the Turner Funeral Home chapel with Buddy Edwards officiating.

A graveside committal service will be held at Rinnie Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery, 15245 Hwy 127N, Crossville, TN 38571 at noon (CST) on Monday, July 24, 2023.
