Carl "Thom" Chase, Jr., 86, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022.  He grew up in Tiftonia and was a lifelong Chattanooga native.  Thom was a member of Tiftonia Church of Christ and Lake Hills Church of Christ.  He was a graduate of Central High School and was retired from the Electric Power Board after 45 years of service.  Thom was the owner of Thom Chase Marine for 50 years and was President of the Waconda Bay Marine Association for 34 years.  He was also a member of the Harrison Masonic Lodge # 114 and I.B.E.W. # 175 for over 50 years.  Thom was an avid boater who enjoyed spending much time on the water with family and friends from the Chattanooga Yacht Club and other surrounding marinas.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Hilda Medley Chase; parents, Carl T. Chase, Sr. and Flossie Klein Bolus Chase, and brothers, William David Bolus, Sr. and George Woodrow Bolus.

Thomas is survived by his daughter, Sheri Chase Waterhouse (Ed); son, Carl Thomas "Trey" Chase, III (Sharon); sister, JoAnn Chase Turner (Gene) of Gainesville, GA; grandchildren, Jackson Chase Waterhouse, Jillian Claire Waterhouse, and Colton Thomas Chase, as well as other relatives, Lynda Bolus Cody and William David Bolus (Anne).

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home @ Hwy 58.

Thom will be laid to rest in Lakewood Memorial Gardens West.
