Charles Sims, 73, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022.  He was a resident of Birchwood, TN and a member of Denny Hill Baptist Church.  Charles was an upholsterer for many years and retired from Whirlpool after 27 years of service.  He enjoyed "pickin' and grinnin'" on his 12-string guitar with family and friends.  Charles also loved grilling, working in the yard, and spending time with his family.

Charles was preceded in death by his father, James Sims; mother, Ruby Potter Sims; brother, Raymond Sims; niece, Shannon Spangler, and Bob Barbee, who he loved like a brother.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mildred Sims; sons, Charles (Dusty) Sims, Bunky (Britania) Sims, Mitchell (Cristie) Sims, and Daniel (Mendy) Brown; daughter, Tammie (Jeff) Gunter; sister, Sarah (Ernie) Spangler; ten grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 from 4 - 8 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home @ Hwy 58.  A visitation will also be held on Thursday, August 18, 2022 from 10 a.m. – noon.  A funeral service will follow at noon in the chapel with Pastor Clarence Hodge officiating.

Charles will be laid to rest in Williamson Cemetery.
