Detective Charles "Eddie" Sledge, 44, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2019. He was employed with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office for 22 years. Detective Sledge served many roles within the department; dispatcher, patrolman and traffic investigator. He was also a senior advisor for the HCSO Explorer Post. He was currently working as a fire investigator and was a member of the Tennessee Advisory Committee on Arson as well as a member of the National Association of Fire Investigators.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Judy Sledge.

Detective Sledge is survived by his wife, April Sledge and his daughters, Kendall and Judith Catherine.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 from 4 - 8 p.m. and on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Bayside Baptist Church @ 6100 Hwy 58, Harrison, TN. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. on Wednesday with interment in New McDonald Cemetery.
