Chun ae "Jo" Curtis was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, and friend.  She left this earth too soon, on July 4, 2023, at the age of 75.

Jo was born in Seoul, South Korea on October 5, 1947.  She moved to the U.S. in 1971, achieving her citizenship in 1975.  She was a skillful and loving homemaker, raising two children, caring for her husband of over 40 years, tending her plants and yard, cooking for those she loved, and organizing her home.

Jo loved taking care of her family, seeing just how big she could grow plants - indoors and outdoors - mowing acres of grass, and on the rare occasion she would sit still, completing more word puzzles than one can imagine.  She drank coffee like water, and could easily whip up southern fried chicken or kimchi with rice - or both in one meal!  She knew just what to feed you to give you energy, make you feel at home, or soothe a cold.

Though Jo faced many challenges in this life, she was strong, resilient and feisty.  She lived in the moment and moved forward, focused on the things she loved.

She is deeply, deeply loved and will be so very missed.

Jo is survived by her husband, David Curtis; son, Paul Cunningham; daughter-in-law, Misty Cunningham; daughter, Lee Morgan; son-in-law, Jimmy Morgan; step-grandson, Kyle Morgan; step-granddaughter, Lindsay Morgan, and granddaughter, McKenzy Morgan.

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023 at Turner Funeral Home @ Hwy 58 from 11 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.  A funeral service will follow at 12:15 p.m. in the chapel.

Jo will be laid to rest in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
