Connor "Chase" Powell, 14, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023.  He was a resident of Harrison, TN and attended Duncan Park Baptist Church in East Ridge.  He looked up to and loved spending time with his brother, Nicholas.  Chase was full of energy and warmth.  He loved running and also enjoyed hiking and boating.  Chase was the most humble and grateful son anyone could ask for with a heart of gold.  His heart was so big and so perfect that God needed to have him home for a very special purpose.  The world has lost a beautiful soul.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, John "Mark" Maupin.

Chase is survived by his mother, Jennifer Maupin; father, John "Scott" Powell and his girlfriend, Elizabeth Kerezman, and her daughter, Carli Kerezman; brother, Nicholas Powell; grandparents, Lamar Powell (Diana), Jeannie Maupin (Ellis Berg), and Gay Maupin; aunts and uncles, Amy Maupin, Jason Jeter (Renee), Lamar Powell II, and Eric Powell (Michelle), and cousins, Hope Townsend (Zeke), Brooke Jeter, Rebecca Jeter, Airman First Class Zachary Jeter, Catherine Jeter, Tyler Powell, Olivia Erli, Sawyer Powell, Victoria Powell, Juliet Powell, Sophie Jankiewicz, and Lily Jankiewicz, as well as many other great aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home @ Hwy 58.  A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 12 p.m. with Pastor James Rushing officiating.  There will be no visitation before the service on Wednesday.

Chase will be laid to rest in New McDonald Eastview Cemetery in Ooltewah.
