On June 7th, 1958, the world became noticeably brighter with the arrival of Debra Ann “Debbie” Goldberg (Rodriguez). Her care and rearing were primarily under the kindly guidance of her beloved late grandfather, John Ellis, and her adored late father, Hershel B. Goldberg, both of whom brought her heavenly messages following their passing in the form of cardinals. Debbie was preceded in death by her grandmother Ora Ellis, Jeanne "Bubby" Keith, and bonus mother Sharon Rodriguez.

On August 30th, 2026, the world became dimmer as Debbie finished her journey. Debbie loved reading, dolphins, elephants, and Prince, was at the forefront of the best new music until good music stopped being made in the early 2000s, and her favorite color was actually blue. She always wished on clocks, pennies, and cardinals. We are happy to report that she did not regret covering her body in tattoos as she got older and received her last tattoo along with her children just weeks before her passing.

Debbie was part of the Brainerd High School class of 1976 and cherished her many lifelong friendships from that school, as well as her work family from North American Credit Services. Debbie is survived by her primary role model as a mother, Joanne Quarles; several close family members, including Susan Quarles; her devoted constant companion and daughter, Hermione “Nikki” Rodriguez; son Dr. Patrick “Brian” Goldberg; his fiancée, Amanda Allen; grandchildren Willow Eads and Charles Apocalypse Goldberg; the Rodriguez family; and innumerable close friends, including Beverly Bunton; Shuntequia Blake; Nikki "my other Nikki" Williamson (and her husband Tylor and son Opie); and Stormi Levi and Kevin Baumgartner, who provided tremendous support and comfort in her last years.

Debbie will be remembered for her frankness and ability to keep everyone laughing with her humor and antics.
