Doris Ann Johnson, 72, passed away on Monday, November 1, 2021 at her home with her family by her side. She loved her family, friends, and Jesus. Ms. Johnson enjoyed cruises and the outdoors and especially traveling with her sisters and best friend, Rita. Doris loved being around people and she never met a stranger. She was kind to everyone she met.

Ms. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Carl David Johnson; parents, Carmack and Ruby Gibson Brown; sisters, Ruby Brown, Inez Wright, and Nadine Holloway; brothers, Hubert, Nolan, Bobby, James, Paul, Jerry, Morris, and Bill Brown.

Doris is survived by her son, David Matthew Johnson; daughters, Carla (Ray) Griggs and Michele Johnson (Marcia Hayes); sister, Betty Gist; grandchildren, Ivy Brandon and Alona Johnson; great grandchildren, Kora and Kade Brandon; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 5, 2021 from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. at Turner Funeral Home, Hwy 58 Chapel.  A chapel service will follow at 11:30 a.m.

Ms. Johnson will be laid to rest in Chattanooga National Cemetery with her husband, Carl Johnson.
