Doris Wilson, 89, passed away on April 9, 2021.  Doris was a member of Crossing Church, but often visited Valley View Baptist in Flintstone, GA.  She loved sewing, cross stitch, quilting, and crafts.  Doris lived life to the fullest, celebrating her 80 ^th birthday whitewater rafting on the Ocoee.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; parents, William and Laura Zipp, and brother, Charles Zipp.

Doris is survived by her sons, Fred (Anita) Carter, Charles Carter, Mike (Tracy) Carter, Eddie Shelley, and Boyd (Tina) Lankford; daughter, Beverly (Dave) Lisenby; brother, Edwin (Nancy) Zipp; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 12, 2021 from 5 – 8 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home, Hwy 58.  A funeral service will be held the following day, Tuesday, April 13, 2021 in the chapel at 11 a.m. with Dr. Jeff Brown officiating.

Doris will be laid to rest in Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson.
