Obituary

Dorothy Louise Harris, 80, a resident of Harrison, Tennessee for the past sixty years, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2018.  Mrs. Harris retired from the Harrison Post Office after twenty-three years of service.  She also was a school bus driver for Hamilton County Schools.  During the 1980's, Dorothy was an EMT with the Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department.  Throughout the years, she and her beloved friend Anne Joel helped so many Harrison community members.  She was a hard worker who devoted time to her family, serving others, and spending time with her flowers and garden.  Dorothy believed in her promised salvation and is now serving in heaven for Jesus Christ.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Lena and Lamar Cutten and a brother, Wallace (Margaret) Allison.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Chief Charles "Dude" Harris; daughters, Deborah (Craig) Horton and Suzy (Walt) Hall; brother, Clarence (Bobbie) Allison; sister, Betty Davis; grandchildren, Alex, (Ginny) Horton, Bailey (Stuart) Doss, Gracey (Chase) Cochran; special friends, Mark Hutchings and Stan Hardy, as well as several nieces and nephews.

The funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Turner Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Lloyd Harvill officiating.  Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 19, 2018, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from noon until time of service at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department Christmas Toy Drive, P.O. Box 310, Harrison, TN 37341.
