Edna Pauline "Polly" Lemons went to be with her heavenly Father on July 1, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Milburn Lee Kirby and Tamar Clellie Cantrell Kirby, and by siblings Melvin Kirby, Emma Kirby Stanley, and Treva Kirby Sharpe, as well as a sister and brother who died in infancy. Polly is survived by siblings; Eva Maynard, Ruth Light, Mary Stone, Judy Kirby, and David Kirby; children, Joy (Frank) Eaton, Penny Gharanfoli and Robert (Chris) Lemons; grandchildren, Sherene (Michael) Katzman and Evangeline (Brandon) Blair; former son-in-law, Hossein Gharanfoli; special niece, Amy Joyner and many other nieces and nephews.

Polly was a devout Christian and a supporter of the March of Dimes. She was a tender and loving mother and grandmother. Her passion was for birds; she loved to watch birds, feed birds, listen to their songs, and collect bird-related art.

The family wishes to express its gratitude to the staff of East Ridge Residence, who always treated our mother as if she were their own mother. We also want to thank the nursing and support staff of Parkridge Medical Center's Emergency Department and 4 East for their sensitive treatment of our mother and our family during her brief, unexpected illness.

The family will receive visitors on Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 3-5 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation be made to the March of Dimes or the Audubon Society.
