Effie Jean Pruitt, 93, received her heavenly wings early on Wednesday, February 2, 2022.  She was born on November 24, 1928 to Jim and Minnie Ramsey.  Effie loved to work in her yard and tend to her flowers and it showed.  She was a member of Lakeway Baptist Church.

Effie was preceded in death by her husband, John Pruitt; son, Donald Pruitt; grandson, John Lynn; three brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by her daughter and "sister", Sarah (Daniel) Lynn; sons, Bobby (Janice) Pruitt, Eddie (Connie) Pruitt and Danny (Donna) Pruitt; sister, Nell Lewis; four grandchildren, Chrissy (Will) Branch, Timmy Pruitt, Ed (Christy) Pruitt and Bobby Pruitt; four great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews, family and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 7, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Old McDonald Cemetery in Ooltewah with Pastor Ronnie Dotson and Rev. Jimmy Murphy officiating.

Family and friends will be serving as pallbearers.
