Eldred Roden Jr.

Eldred M "J. R." Roden Jr., 73, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, March 9, 2017. He was a retired machinist at Tuftco Corporation (formerly Southern Machine Company) after 48 years of service. J. R. loved to travel, camp, listen to music and all western shows. He attended Sawyer Missionary Baptist Church on Signal Mountain.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary Carolyn Lovell Roden; parents, Eldred M Roden Sr. and Lillian I Harrison Roden Black; brother, James A Roden.

Surviving are his 3 daughters, Susan E (Murry) Casey, Sharon D (Tim) Smith and Stacie L (Don) Benjamin; sister, Vicki (Jerry) Wells; 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
