Evelyn Layne, 88, went home to be with her trusted Savior on Tuesday, February 13, 2018. She was a member of Faith Fellowship Assembly of God.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Layne Sr.; parents, Claude and Louise McCuiston and sister Helen Burch.

She is survived by sons, John (Wilma) Layne Jr. and Fred (Becky) Layne; daughter, Lynette Thompson; brother, Fred McCuiston; grandchildren, Rhonda (Don) Blackwell, Melissa Pendergrass, John R. (Lisa) Layne III, Rodney Layne, Tisha (Jeff) Thompson, Tim (Stephanie) Stafford and Todd and Kim Perkins; eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 11-1 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home on Hwy 58. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Minister Fred Layne officiating. Mrs. Layne will be laid to rest in Chattanooga National Cemetery with her husband.
