Frances "Janie" Layne, 76, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2022.  Janie was a Chattanooga native who lived in Harrison for the past 47 years.  She was a member of Lakeway Baptist Church and retired more than 30 years ago from K-Mart, located on Hwy 58.  Janie was a friend to whomever she met.  She had the biggest heart and was known for being a kind soul.  Janie was a devoted wife to her late husband, Randy Layne, for 47 years.  She loved her family, friends, and dogs, and was an inspiration to those who knew her.  Janie had a deep love for her two children and two grandchildren who were her pride and joy.  She loved vacations in Las Vegas and weekend trips finding good yard sales with friends.

Janie was preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Opal Rogers.

She is survived by her son, Kyle (Staci) Layne; daughter, Shawn Layne; sister, Jackie Hooks, and grandchildren, Cody and Matthew Layne.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 18, 2022 from 4 - 8 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home, Hwy 58. A visitation will also be held on Monday, September 19, 2022 from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.  A funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Minister Steve Highlander officiating.

Janie will be laid to rest with her husband, Randy, in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
