Gary Brooks
Gary Douglas Brooks, age 65, passed away on July 4, 2017. He was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and attended Terra Vista Baptist Church and First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a retired plumber. Gary was an avid college football fan and animal lover. He loved and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel McKee Carlton and step-father, John Carlton; brothers, Charlie Brooks and David Brooks; sister, Marilyn Spurling.
He was survived by his wife of 38 years, Patricia Brooks of Chattanooga; daughter, Brandy A. Brooks of Chattanooga; sister-in-law, Mary Brooks; brother-in-law, Jack Spurling; sisters, Elaine (Leon) Torbett of Chattanooga and Evelyn (Dick) Kite of Ringgold; grandchildren, Ian Swafford and Alley and Zachary Early; great grandchildren, Kylie and Kolby Dempsey; several nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Graveside service will be 11:00am on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Harrison Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank the excellent staff of Memorial Hospital for their compassionate and wonderful care.
