Obituary

Gene Armstrong, 90, went home to be with Jesus on November 18, 2020.  He was born on October 11, 1930 in Santa Cruz, CA.  Gene served in the U.S. Navy in the time of the Korean War as a Gunner's Mate.  He also was a member of Hickory Valley Baptist Church in Chattanooga, where he and his wife, Rose Gayle, sang in the choir in past years.  Gene was a man of God, who loved Jesus and his family, and will be dearly missed.

Gene was preceded in death by his son, Timothy; daughter, Glenda; his parents, and his sisters, Rose Marie and Nickie.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Gayle; stepchildren, Debbie (Richard) West, Deanna (Danny) Gentry, Dan Reid, Jr. (Stacie), and his grandchildren, Rose, Jeremy Reid, Richie West, April Kieckhefer, Summer Chestnut, Steven Holter, and Sierra Lingerfelt.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 27, 2020 from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home @ Hwy 58.  A funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel.

Gene will be laid to rest in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
