George Rayford Genter, Sr., 77, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022.  He was a member of Maple Grove Baptist and was retired from the City of Chattanooga.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Buford and Myrtle Genter; brother, David Williams, and grandson, Joshua Owen.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Annetta "Annie" Genter; son, Ray (Lisa) Genter, Jr.; daughters, Katrina Barton and Tammi (Johnny) Owen; stepson, Leslie Williams; brother, Buford Genter, Jr.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 15, 2022 from 4 - 8 p.m. at Maple Grove Baptist Church, located at 9525 Birchwood Pk, Harrison, TN 37341.  A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022 at 2 p.m. with Pastors Ronnie Dotson and Andy Bell officiating.

George will be laid to rest in Harrison Cemetery.
