George Lowe

Beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather, George A. Lowe, 84, of Harrison passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. George retired as a Master Sergeant from the Air Force after 21 years of service and he also retired from the Chattanooga City School System where he served for 22 years as a maintenance supervisor. There is nothing he loved more than spending time with his family. He created wonderful memories with his children and grandchildren while camping, attending many sports events and also enjoyed hunting with his son and brothers. George was an avid and well known golfer at Brainerd Golf Course.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Nancy Lowe; parents, Luther Lee and Essie Lowe; brothers, Thomas and Archie Lowe.

He is survived by his sons, Randy (Melinda) Lowe, Rusty (Maureen) Lowe; daughters, Allison (Jeff) Arnold, Laurie (Mike) Toth; brothers, Carlton Lowe, David Lowe, Clarence Lowe; sisters, Levita Harden, Beverly Blaylock; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 from 4-8 pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Minister John Brantley officiating. Grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am on Thursday until the time of service.

Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.
