Jul 19, 1934 — Mar 1, 2026
Geraldine Tanner, 91, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2026.
A faithful and longtime member of Maple Grove Baptist Church, Geraldine's life was a reflection of her deep and abiding faith. She found great joy in worship, and serving others within her church community. Her church family was an important part of her life, and she cherished the friendships she built over the years.
Geraldine was also a proud member of the Chattanooga Porcelain Artists Guild, where she expressed her artistic talents. Her love for porcelain art showcased her patience, attention to detail, and appreciation for beauty.
She was employed at Cutter Lab, and later worked at 3M as a plant nurse while attending nursing school to become a Registered Nurse.
As an RN, she served at several area hospitals, including Siskin Hospital and Downtown General, and later provided compassionate care through home health services. Nursing was more than a profession to Geraldine—it was a ministry. She touched countless lives with her kindness and steady presence. She retired in 2005 after 40 years of dedicated service to her community.
Geraldine will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her servant's heart, her creative spirit, and her deep love for her family and friends. Her life was a blessing to all who knew her, and her memory will be treasured always.
