Gertrude "Orlena" Baker, 76, passed away on Monday, August 28, 2023.  Orlena was born in Blue Ridge, GA on January 24, 1947.  At the age of 6, she moved to Chattanooga.  Orlena was a member of East Chattanooga Baptist Tabernacle and a 1965 graduate of Kirkman Technical High School.  She enjoyed ceramics and playing Horseshoes.  Orlena loved being around others and never met a stranger.  She will be deeply and forever missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Lamar Baker; parents, Howard and Hester Lawson, and sisters, Dorothy Ann Watson and Clara Vaughn.

Orlena is survived by her sister, Mary Lou Johnson (Leonard), two nieces and two nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Brother Mike Manning officiating.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
