Henry "Pop" Hood, 80, passed away at home surrounded by loving family on Sunday, April 10, 2022.  Henry "Pop" was a kind and generous soul.  He loved to spend time with his family and was well-known for working on lawn mowers.  He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be deeply missed.

Pop was preceded in death by his parents, Anderson and Mamie Hood; brothers, Edward Hood, James Hood, Carlos Hood and Hoyt Hood, and sister, Elizabeth Gentry.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara Hood; son, Ronald (Terry) Hood; daughter, Janet (Derrick) Eaton; grandchildren, Samantha (Andrew) Sisk, Cooper Eaton, Cody (Jena) Hood, Dillon (Kelsey) Hood, Nathan Hood (Kelsie Yates), and Conner Hood; five great-grandchildren and one on the way.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 from 1 – 7 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home @ Hwy 58.  Visitation will also be held on Thursday, April 14, 2022 from 11 – 1 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Pastors Dwight Henderson and Clarence Hodge officiating.

Pop will be laid to rest in Old McDonald Cemetery in Ooltewah.
