Obituary

Hobert Deward Hickman, Sr., 72, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2019. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Hickman was a sergeant in the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean War as well as the Vietnam War. He retired from Mueller Co. after 35 years as a mechanic.  Hobert was also a member of the VFW 4848 and one of his favorite pastimes was flying RC airplanes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hobert Hickman and Edna Logan; second wife, Charlotte Hickman; stepmother, Rosa Hickman and stepson, Jeff Terry.

Mr. Hickman is survived by his wife, Sandra; son, Hobert Hickman, Jr.; daughters, Tina Labbe, Connie Bond and Sheila (Thomas) Ashby; stepsons, Kenneth Terry and Tommy Hastings; stepdaughters, Lynn (Ray) Lewis and Amy (Randall) Ellis; brother, Bobby Hickman; sister, Denise Postelle; stepbrother, Steve Hixson; stepsisters, Faye Hixson and Teresa Hixson as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 30, 2019 from 4 - 8 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home @ Hwy 58. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 31, 2019 @ noon in the Turner Funeral Home chapel with Chaplain Bill Bond officiating. Following the service, Mr. Hickman will be laid to rest in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
