Huson Rudolph McManus, 95, of Chattanooga, TN, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024. He was born in Augusta, GA on May 28, 1928. Huson was an active member of East Brainerd Baptist Church for several years.
He was employed as an insurance agent with Independent Insurance Company, where he worked to protect and support countless families over the years. He was also a longtime homebuilder in Chattanooga and the surrounding areas. Huson's commitment to his clients earned him much respect and admiration.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Huson had a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. He found solace in listening to and singing gospel music, which brought him immense joy and comfort. Huson's passion for music extended to watching and feeding birds, finding tranquility in their flight and songs. He also loved traveling and exploring new and historic places with his family, creating memories that will always be cherished.
In addition to his professional and personal pursuits, Huson was an active member of the Freemason community. His commitment to the principles of brotherhood, charity, and integrity was unwavering. Huson found great fulfillment in being part of this organization and he dedicated himself to improving the lives of others through its endeavors.
Huson McManus was a man of integrity and resilience. He touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine McManus; brother, Ervin McManus, and his great-granddaughter, Charlotte Cramer.
Huson is survived by his children, Townsand Ann Simonds (Steve) and Barry McManus; grandchildren, Scott McManus, Laura Cramer, John McManus, James Simonds, Sara McManus, and great-grandchildren, Celena McManus, Katherine Cramer, Benjamin Cramer, Luke McManus and Jake Simonds. He will also be remembered by his nieces, Shirley Kilgore and Sherry Lawhorn; nephew, Ricky McManus, as well as extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 2 – 3:30 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home @ Hwy 58. A memorial service will follow at 3:30 p.m. in the chapel.

The family would like to especially thank the staff of Hearth Hospice and Lifecare of Collegedale for their love, kindness and support.
