J. "Morene" Cangemi, 81, went home to be with her Savior on Saturday, May 20, 2023.  Morene was born in Murphy, NC on April 20, 1942 to James and Ruby Davis.  She was a 46-year resident of Harrison, TN, but previously resided in North Carolina, Ohio, California and Florida.  Morene was employed at First Tennessee Bank for many years until her retirement.  She was a member of Bayside Baptist Church who loved the Lord.  Morene lived out her faith by blessing everyone she encountered with her smile, positive outlook, love, and kindness.  She was a loving wife and mother to her husband and son, who were the loves of her life.  Morene enjoyed spending time with her sisters, Maxine and Beth, who were also her best friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James R. Davis and Ruby Viola Davis of Harrison, TN.

Morene is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Vito Cangemi; son, Michael Cangemi; sisters, Maxine Honeycutt of Cleveland, TN and Beth McNulty of Harrison, TN; nephews, Steve Honeycutt (Barb) and James McNulty (Gina); nieces, Sharon Honeycutt, Susan Furtwengler (Dave) and Jennifer Rowe (Ronnie), as well as ten great-nieces and great-nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Bayside Baptist Church in Harrison with Pastor Grady Cooper officiating.
