Jerry Dean Gilliam, 75, of Ooltewah, TN, passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at his home.  Jerry was a graduate of Chattanooga High School and was employed for more than 30 years at Erlanger Medical Center in the Maintenance Engineering Dept.  He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and making bird houses.  Jerry also had a passion for photography.  He took pride in his home and lawn and enjoyed sitting on the front porch with family, friends and neighbors.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Lear Gilliam and Katherine Evelyn Shipley.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carolyn Harden Gilliam; son, Jeffery Dean Gilliam; daughter, Sonja Gilliam-Gorski (Keith); brother, Joe Gilliam (Charlotte); sister, Sandy Terrell (Bobby); grandchildren, Jhordan Gilliam Baldwin, Jeffery Tyler Gilliam, and Kolbi Alan Reed (Megan); great-grandchildren, Masin Baldwin, Paisley Reed, Brecklynn Reed, Ashtin Baldwin and Whillow Baldwin, as well as many other extended family members.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home @ Hwy 58.  A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022 at 1 p.m.  There will be no visitation before the funeral service on Friday.

Jerry will be laid to rest in New McDonald (Eastview) Cemetery.
