Jim Ganoe, 86, passed away at Lifecare of Ooltewah on Wednesday, October 23, 2024.  He was a graduate of Peterstown High School in Peterstown, WV.  Upon graduation, Jim joined the United States Army, where he served for 4 years.  He was employed with several different companies over the years: GMAC for 20 years, Kmart for 15 years, Bell Limousine for 7 years, as well as the Bank of Cleveland for 7 years.  He was a faithful member of Oakwood Church of God of Prophecy in Chattanooga and enjoyed gospel music.  Jim will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Yvonne Lotts; second wife, Eva Joyce Sliger; stepchildren, Larry Palmer, Diane Palmer Long and Roger Highers, as well as son-in-law, David Long.

Jim is survived by his brothers, Fred Ganoe and Tom Ganoe (Sherry); grandson, Jeremy Long (Shayla); granddaughters, Stacey Boeye (James) and Heather Brown; stepchildren, Douglas Sliger (Vicki), Mark Sliger (Linda), and Tammy Highers; one great-grandchild, and one great-great-grandchild; special friend and caregiver, Debbie Palmer and Logan, and his forever fur-babies, Lola and Lincoln.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home @ Hwy 58.  A visitation will also be held on Friday, October 25, 2024 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.  A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Brother Lee officiating.

Jim will be laid to rest in Tyner Cemetery.
