John Jobron Jr.

John Jobron Jr., 92, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2016, in the presence of his loving daughter, Suzanne. He was born in Silver Creek, Mississippi on October 28, 1923 to John and Minnie Jobron. John was a member of St John UMC for over 50 years. He enlisted in the US Navy at the age of 18 and served in World War II and earned an Honorable Discharge in 1945. John attended Mississippi State University, University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) and graduated from the University of Chattanooga in 1950 where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He later worked for Combustion Engineering for 34 years where he retired in 1985.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Minnie Jobron.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 59 years, Mary Whittle Jobron; children, Betsy (John) Corum, Suzanne (Darron) Hunt and David Jobron; grandchildren, Brielle (Brandon) Farrow, BJ Kennedy, Kaylee and Nicole Williams and Jonathon and Jessica Jobron; great granddaughter, Isabel Kennedy; sister, Alice Alsobrook; other family members, Joel Kennedy, Mike Williams, Chrissy Harris and Cathy Smith; Leigh Ann and Larry Pennington and Lynn Alsobrook, as well as other close nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 11, 2016 from 3-8 pm in the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Monday, September 12, 2016 at 1:30 pm in the funeral home chapel with Reverends Carl Blackburn and Tommy Messer officiating.
