John Andrew Peters IV, age 70, passed away on October 19, 2026. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee, and raised in Chattanooga, where he spent his life.

John, affectionately known as “Boss Man” to close friends and family, was an engineer who worked with numerous companies before pursuing entrepreneurship and self-employment. He was a hardworking, creative-minded, God-fearing Christian man known for his generosity, selflessness, and willingness to help others.

John enjoyed life’s simple moments, spending time with family and friends, and creating lasting memories with his grandchildren. He valued the friendships he built throughout his life and cherished the many memories they shared.

John is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Patti Peters; his two sons, Andy Peters (Hannah) and Lee Peters; his four grandchildren, Lanie Peters, Lawson Peters, Linden Peters, and Learah Peters; his sister, JoAnn Wallace; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Andrew Peters III and Rose Peters, and his sister, Donna Jean “DJ” Carroll.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 26, 2026 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Tim Ashley officiating.

John will be laid to rest in Lakewood Memory Gardens East.
