John Turney, 84, passed away on October 6, 2019. Mr. Turney retired after more than 30 years as an electrical engineer with TVA. He also served as a Captain in the United States Army Reserves.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Shirley, and parents, Louis and Wilda Turney.

He is survived by his sons, Richard (Martha) Turney and Peter (Alice) Turney; brother, Bob Turney; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home, Hwy 58. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the Turner Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Adam McKee officiating. Mr. Turney will be laid to rest in Hamilton Memorial Gardens next to his wife, Shirley.
