Johnny Joe
Gann
May 15, 1953 — Jul 28, 2021
Johnny Joe Gann, 68, went to his heavenly home on July 28, 2021, after his body was overtaken by the cruel disease ALS. He fought a long and hard battle to survive. Johnny loved to bass fish, and his cremains will be spread at his favorite fishing spots. He loved to joke around and tell tall tales, and his family could tell he was up to something when his blue eyes would sparkle. Johnny insisted that he get baptized before he passed away, so his family took him to Maple Grove Baptist Church and his wish was accomplished. He will be missed dearly by his family and loved ones. They will forever cherish the memories they have of him.
Please express your condolences to the family on the guestbook.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman R. and Janie M. Davis Gann; brother, Tommy Gann, sister-in-laws; Cindee and Iva Faye Gann; brother-in-laws; Joel C. Moore and Clifford Wheeler, and nephews, Wesley Hammonds and Leon Beal.
Johnny is survived by his brother; Richard (Rick) L. Gann; sisters, Carolyn A. Moore and Thelma J. Wheeler; special cousin, David Randolph (who checked on Johnny every day); niece, Stephanie Juntunen (who delighted him with her visits and conversation), as well as another niece, and several nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses at Hospice of Chattanooga, especially Mark Mollenkof, for his care and friendship while taking care of Johnny.
There will be no visitation or service per Johnny's request.
