Joseph "Joe" Harry Freitag, 70, passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at 5:00 AM at Memorial Hospital in downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was born in Washington D.C. on October 29, 1947 to Irwin and Bernardine Freitag, the oldest of seven siblings. He attended Little Flower School, St. John's College High School, and the University of Dayton. Joe spent many years in Virginia, Colorado, and Tennessee where he owned restaurants, catering businesses, and limousine companies.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother, Mike (Linda). He is survived by his three children, J.J., Brad (Sarah), and Martha (Chris) and eight grandchildren, Phoebe, Mack, Fletcher, Abigail, Caroline, Milo, Jude, and Ryan Harry. He is also survived by five siblings, Dave, Richard (Larry), Janet (Bernie), Sara (Gary), and Bill (Cara) and many nieces and nephews.

Joe will be remembered as a man who loved fiercely with his huge heart. He enjoyed cheering on the Broncos and Buffs, listening to John Denver, and entertaining his children's friends. You could count on him to provide pickles or a ham at every family occasion. There was nothing he loved more than being "Paca" to his grandchildren!

A funeral mass will be held on Monday, April 2 at 5:00 P.M. at St. Jude Catholic Church, 930 Ashland Terrace in Chattanooga. The family will receive guests at the church from 4:00 P.M. until the mass begins. The Freitag family would like to extend our gratitude to the skilled and compassionate nurses and doctors at Memorial Hospital.
