Joyce Ann Guice, 81, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022.  She was a member of Harrison United Methodist Church in Harrison.  Joyce was employed with the City of Chattanooga.  She was also employed as a secretary for the Tennessee Highway Patrol as well as Lake Vista United Methodist Church.  Joyce was a 1958 graduate of City High School.  She was actively involved at Lake Vista United Methodist and Harrison United Methodist as a choir director.  Joyce also taught pre-school music at Christ United Methodist.  She was a former board member at the Bethlehem Center in the Chattanooga district and held many leadership positions in the United Methodist Women.  Joyce was director of the Joyful Chorus and also sang with the Scenic City Chorus of Sweet Adelines.  She was a former Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader.  Her creativity in cake decorating brought joy to many wedding and birthday celebrations.  Joyce was an excellent seamstress, blessing many with her gift of sewing.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Carl Guice, Jr.; parents, Fred and Cauline Wolfe, and brother, Wimp Wolfe.

Joyce is survived by her son, Corky (Beth) Guice; daughter, Carla (Lynn) Humphries; grandchildren, Nathan and Sonja Humphries, and Amelia and Eleanor Guice; brother, Wayne Wolfe; brother-in-law, Jackson Guice; sisters-in-law, Brenda Wolfe, Wanda Kennedy, and Bertha Odam.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 5, 2022 from noon – 3 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home @ Hwy 58.  A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Adam McKee officiating.

Joyce will be laid to rest in Chattanooga National Cemetery with her husband, Carl Guice, Jr.
