Juanita Cooper
Juanita Fay Smith Cooper,79, passed away Friday October 13, 2017. She was born to James and Mary Pearl Smith on August 29, 1938, in Chattanooga. In 1954, Juanita was united in marriage to Dan Cooper, and they were married for nearly 50 years until his death in 2004.
Juanita and Dan loved to travel and lived in many places before settling in Livingston, Montana. Together they raised six children and took great pleasure in their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They enjoyed being outdoors, be it riding motorcycles in their younger years, camping, rock hunting and exploring Yellowstone Park. Juanita worked for many years at Weimer's Craft Store in Livingston with her dear friend, Irene. She was exceptionally skilled at knitting, needlepoint and quilting. She had a special fondness for angel figurines and had quite a collection.
Juanita is survived by her children, Diana (Joe), Dan Jr.(Lynn), Robert, Kenneth (Karen), Michael (Meg), Mishael Renee; grandchildren, Christina (Sean), Dan lll, Leila, Faylyn, Tanner, Brandon, Ethan, Monica, Robert; great-grandchildren, Amber, Dylan, Maxine, Harper, Ronald and Lyra; sister-in-law, Margaret (Roy); brother-in-law, Richard; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James and sister-in-law, Donna; and her beloved husband, Dan.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Bozeman Health for their excellent care of Juanita.
The family will receive visitors Sunday, October 22, 2017 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home in Chattanooga with the funeral service to immediately follow. Juanita will be laid to rest in Sylar Cemetery.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in Juanita's name to Superintendent, Yellowstone National Park, Attn. Finance Office, P.O. Box 168, Yellowstone National Park, WY 82190 or Heart of Valley Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 11390 , Bozeman, MT. 59719.
