Juanita Ricketts Milliken-Haston, born on February 15, 1936, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family and beloved pet, Ginny, on Friday, October 28, 2022. Juanita lived in Chattanooga most of her life, where she attended Tyner High School and graduated from Kirkman High School in 1954. In 1983, she received her B.S. in business administration. In her career, she was an administrative assistant for Atlas Chemical and North American Royalties, where she retired after 25 years. Juanita was very active in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, traveling and painting. Juanita was a kind, sweet, and loving person with a generous heart, always helping others. She was a member of Terra Vista Baptist Church and served as church secretary for many years.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph K. Milliken, Sr.; husband, Horace Haston; father, Daniel Ricketts; mother, Dorothy Francis Ricketts-Gardenhire; brother, Danny Ricketts, and half-sister, Shirley Ricketts-Shadwick.
Juanita is survived by her sons, Ralph K. Milliken, Jr. (Malinda) and Charles David Milliken; daughter, Terri Milliken-Riden (Dwayne); step-daughter, Alice Norton (Danny); sister-in-law, Betty Ricketts; six grandchildren, Jill Moses (Jason), Christy Rodriguez (Joe), Melissa Cubberley (Andy), Carson Riden (Whitney), Taylor Temple (Austin) and Katie Cramer (Cody); twelve great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 30, 2022 from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home @ Hwy 58. A visitation will also be held on Monday, October 31, 2022 from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Howell officiating.
Juanita will be laid to rest in Bartlebaugh Cemetery.
The family would like to express thanks to Hospice of Chattanooga, and ask that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to Terra Vista Baptist Church or Hospice of Chattanooga.
