Leon "Pops" Masengale, Sr., 77, passed away on September 24, 2019. He loved fishing, camping, and traveling to different places. Leon was a very caring person, always doing for others instead of himself. He would help anyone in need, whether he knew them or not. His children and grandchildren were the light of his life and he is dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Grace Masengale and sisters, Bernice Hawthorne, Sara Massingill and Pat Granger.

Leon is survived by his wife of 61 years, Martha; sons, Leon (Kathy) Masengale, Jr., Allen (Chrissy) Masengale, Thurman Masengale, Jimmy (Linda) Masengale, Lebron Masengale and Joshua Masengale; daughters, Darlene (Robert) Bond, Charlotte (Paul) Leach and Roxann Masengale; sisters, Sylvia McDaniel, Bobbie (Don) Ellis, Linda Masengale and Beverly Massey as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 28, 2019 from 4 – 8 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home, Hwy 58. There will also be a visitation held on Sunday, September 29, 2019 from noon to 2:30 p.m. The funeral will follow at 2:30 p.m with Brother Mark Spangler officiating. Leon will be laid to rest in Maddux Cemetery, Harrison, TN.
