Lloyd Harvill, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 3:16 p.m. (what a fitting time!  John 3:16)

He is now getting to worship the man he had been devoted to for over half of his life.  It was Lloyd Harvill's last chance to witness while transferring from his earthly body to his heavenly body.  His sole purpose in life was to win over other people to the Lord and to be a devoted follower of Christ.  To have known Lloyd Harvill was to love him.  He was the type of man who would not only give you the shirt off his back, but he would make sure you had an extra to change into, as well as something to eat.  Lloyd was the most selfless, trusting, loving and genuine man.  His love for the Lord, his (not so funny) jokes, and the constant cup of coffee in his hand were statements you could never forget.  Lloyd may be gone from this earth, but he will continue to live on through the legacy he left behind with his entire family.  The knowledge and wisdom he provided and poured into his family every day will continue to be fostered.

Lloyd served approximately 54 years in the ministry as either a pastor, associate pastor, or chaplain for the local fire departments.  He also devoted his time to anger management classes, jailhouse ministries, GED classes, and food ministries.  Lloyd led countless souls to the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Ester Harvill; daughter, Teresa Kirk, and granddaughter, Brie Harvill.

Lloyd is survived by his wife of 64 years, Beatrice Harvill "Nanny Bea"; son, Charlie Harvill (Marsha); daughter, Tina Gilbert (Mike); brother, Boyd; grandchildren, James Kirk (Megan), Candy Spangler (William), Josh McKee (Emily), Jordan Kirk (Sarah) and Lacie Harvill, as well as several great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home @ Hwy 58.  A visitation will also be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.  A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor David Berry and Pastor Dennis Culbreth officiating.

Lloyd will be laid to rest in Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Whiteside Baptist Church, 549 Egypt Hollow Road Whiteside, TN 37396.
