In Loving Memory of Lois Marie Walters Pickett

Lois was born on August 9, 1944, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and went home to be with the Lord on September 26, 2025. She was a woman full of love, faith, and creativity.

She was preceded in death by Tommy Dagnan; her daughter, Tommie Baxter; her parents, Miles and Dorthula Walters; and her siblings, Lilly Carter, Linda Walters, and Mickey Walters. Though we will miss her deeply, we are comforted knowing she is reunited with them in heaven.

Lois leaves behind her husband of 52 years, Jerry Pickett. She was a proud and loving mother to Dottie Cagle, Tracey (Howard) McConnell, Lorraine Josey, and Norris Baxter. She was also "Granny" to many grandchildren, as well as great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who adored her.

Lois had a gift for making others feel beautiful inside and out. She worked as a barber and stylist for many years until her retirement in 2019. Her chair was not only a place for haircuts but also for laughter, encouragement, and friendship. She was a woman of strong faith, a devoted Baptist, and she carried her love for the Lord into everything she did.

When she wasn't working Lois loved creating with her hands. Jewelry making and crafting brought her joy, and she shared her creations generously with those around her.

Lois will be remembered for her kindness, her warm smile, her creativity, and most of all, her unconditional love for her family and friends. Her presence was a blessing, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

The family would like to give special thanks to her granddaughter Destini who devoted her time to Granny's comfort and care in her final years.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025, at Turner Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 12:00 p.m. with Justin Perry officiating.
