Louise Graham Norris
Louise G. Norris passed away on Sunday, November 12 while in Hospice Care in Nashville, Tennessee. She was born on February 22, 1922 in Sumrall, Mississippi and was the youngest of 10 children born to the late Emily and Norris Graham. Mrs. Norris was a member of Georgetown Baptist Church and formerly Lookout Valley Baptist Church, a retired employee of Dixie Yarns, and a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many. She lived in her home on a farm in Georgetown, TN from 1971 to December 2016 and lived in Franklin, TN for the last five months of her life. Mrs. Norris was known and recognized in her church and among her friends and family as a prayer warrior and for her delicious apple cakes. She taught Sunday School Classes, sang in the choir, and was a leader in women's ministries until she could no longer travel.
Mrs. Norris was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Olen E. Norris and her
grandson, Thomas Hannah.
Mrs. Norris is survived by her son, daughters and their spouses: Carlton and Joan Norris of Georgetown; daughters, Anita (Jim) Hogue of Spencer, Tennessee; Jane Hannah and Larry Pendergrass of Franklin, Tennessee, and Donna Hooks of Ringgold. Grandchildren and their spouses are Wyatt (Tara) Hogue, Jason (Erin) Hogue, and Bryan (Julie) Hogue of Chattanooga, Julie Hannah of Franklin, Emily (Joe) Cowles of Lexington, Kentucky, Kim (Kenny) Ward, Kristie (David) McElhaney of Ringgold, Dolly (Tim) Roach of Franklin, and Mancy Pendergrass and Alex Waite of Los Angeles. Mrs. Norris has 22 Great-Grandchildren that include Jacob and Joshua Allen; Haddie, Fisher, Bowen, James, Lillian, Emerson and Brett Hogue; Walt and Charlie Cowles; Mia, Ceci and Aven Ward; Paige, Lydia and Mari Chastain; Finn Kelly, Maryn Roach, Truman Waite, and Cole and Keith McElhaney.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 15, 2017 from 5-8 pm in the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 10 am in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Earl Farris and Rev. Dan Dockery officiating. Mrs. Norris will be laid to rest next to her husband at Lakewood Memory Gardens East.
