Lynn Smith

Lynn Thomas Smith, 75, of Harrison, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2016. He was a member of Harrison Seventh Day Adventist Church and was a resident of Chattanooga for over 60 years. Lynn was a retired carpenter and taught carpentry classes for many years. He was a member of the Soddy Daisy Masonic Lodge #706, Scottish Rite Masons and at the Alhambra Shrine Temple where he was a member of the bus unit responsible for transporting children to various Shriner hospitals.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Spencer T. Smith and Etta Mae Chase; brothers, Glen and Jim Mitchell.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley "Bobbi" Morrow Smith; daughter, Cherice Somers and husband David, whom Lynn considered a son and best friend, and daughter, Marsha Smith; brother, Jack Mitchell; sisters, Dorothy Olsen, Grace Fortier and Lois Watten; grandchildren, Matthew (Abby) Somers and Nicholas Somers.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 6, 2017 from 4-6:30 pm at the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow in the chapel with Pastors Greg Cain and Sergio Freeman officiating. Private interment will be in Grasshopper Cemetery.
