Marion Huntoon
Marion Frances Huntoon, 84, passed peacefully in her sleep, Thursday afternoon, June 16, during a temporary stay at NHC nursing home. She had lived with her husband at the home of their daughter, Linda, for over 2 years. She was born in Haynesville, Louisiana August 14, 1931. She met her husband of over 64 years at Freed-Hardeman college in west Tennessee, then moved to Chattanooga to spend the rest of her life. Marion was a member of the Church of Christ and was secretary at the congregation in Rigdedale for many years. She attended other congregations including Tyner in more recent years, then finally attending the Ware Branch congregation in Harrison. She was also a school patrol officer for many years and was well known around town. She worked at most of the area schools at one time or another.
Marion was preceded in death, by one day, by her husband, Thurston Huntoon, who went to heaven only one day before her. She is survived by her sister, Betty Bailey of Des Moines, IA; 3 children, Linda Anderson, Debbie Huntoon and Kendrick Huntoon; 3 grandchildren, Eric (Karen) Parham, Angela (Jon) Ray and Christopher Parham; 4 great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Thurston and Marion will be held at the Ware Branch Church of Christ on Birchwood Pike in Harrison, Tennessee on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at 4 pm. You may visit the online guest book @ www.turnerfamilyfuneralhome.com There will be no visitation or service at the funeral home.
