Martha Dora Ann Minor, 79, passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023.  She was born on July 31, 1944 in Trenton, GA.  Martha was raised in Sand Mountain, AL, moving to Chattanooga in the 1950's with her family.  She was of the Baptist faith and was employed over the years with Econo Carpet Mill, FLR Hosiery, and Pro Ad Printing.  Martha also spent several years doing restaurant work.  After she retired, she became a caretaker for her siblings.

Martha was known for cooking big meals, and loved to see people enjoy their food.  She would open her home to anyone who needed a place to go.  Martha was a kind soul who loved country music, and she was always laughing and having a good time.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Jefferson and Bessie Mae Minor; sons, Timothy Doyle Fowler and Terry Dewayne Fowler, and siblings, Fred A. Minor, Roy Minor, Mac Minor, David Minor, Dovie Sharngburg and Sandra Whitaker.

Martha is survived by her daughter, Tammy Smith; grandsons, Coty B. Smith and Trevor D. Fowler; great-granddaughter, Alice Smith; sister, Louise Davis, as well as nieces, nephews, other family members, and dear friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Turner Funeral Home @ Hwy 58 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.  A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Brother Mike Manning officiating.
