Marvin L. Scoggins, 81, from Ooltewah, TN passed away on April 20, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents; James Henry and Minnie Dill Scoggins; 3 brothers and 5 sisters. Survivors are his loving wife and caregiver of 59 years, Bernice Payne Scoggins and one brother, Frank (Donna) Scoggins of Harrison, TN; 3 children, Suzanne (Guy) Carpenter of Hixson, TN, Steve (Cindy) Scoggins of Harrison, TN and Becky (Joe) Nall of East Ridge, TN; 6 grandchildren, Stephen Scoggins of Signal Mountain, TN, Brandi Curtis of Nazareth, PA, Dustin Carpenter of Red Bank, TN, Lauren Dean of Hixson, TN, and Jessica and Andy Nall of East Ridge, TN; 13 great-grandchildren, Noah, Jonathan, Kayleigh, Kaitlyn, Scarlet, Adisyn, Hadyn, Micah, Jack, Anna, J.T., Renlee, and Christopher James. Marvin was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Germany and a member of the American Legion. He retired from CF Industries and CHI Memorial Hospital. He also loved the Tennessee Vols and the ATL Braves baseball team.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 22, 2018 from 4-8 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Monday, April 23, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. in the Turner Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Grady Cooper officiating. Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
