Mary Louise Goodner, 88, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023.  She was a long-time resident of Chattanooga and was a 1952 graduate of Chattanooga City High School.  Mary was a member of Meadowview Baptist for over 40 years.  She was their youth Sunday School teacher and did a great deal of ministry work.  Mary was also a volunteer for the 1996 Olympics at the Ocoee.  She was a member of the MWU (Women's Missionary Union) and a graduate of ECPI.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Lee Goodner; parents, Richard and Mary Holland; siblings, G.W. Cline, Martha Epler, Virginia Witzel and Richard Jennings Holland, Jr.; grandson, Jeremy Cox; granddaughter, Heather Cox, and great-grandson, Jaden Cox.

She is survived by her sons, Jerry Goodner (Debbie), Barry Goodner, and Scott Cox (Linda); daughter, Pattie Beavers (Rick); eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  The family would also like to give thanks to all the nurses at Adoration Hospice, and special thanks to CNA Samantha, RN Sharon and LPN Brenda.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at Turner Funeral Home @ Hwy 58 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.  A graveside service will be held the same day, at 3 p.m., on the property of 10528 Snow Hill Rd with Pastor Cliff Waters officiating.  Please park in the church parking lot next to the property.

Mary will be laid to rest in the family plot at Anderson Cemetery.
